COVID - current guidance

On 21 February the Prime Minister set out the next phase of the Government’s COVID 19 response. COVID-19 continues to be a virus that we learn to live with and the imperative to reduce the disruption to children and young people’s education remains. The Government's priority is to support delivery of face-to-face, high-quality education to all pupils.

Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend.
Children with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 3 days. They can then return to school if they do not have a temperature and feel well enough.
