Creative Curriculum

We value all aspects of the curriculum and strive to give our children a wide breadth of experiences. It includes not only the formal requirements of the National Curriculum but also the various extra-curricular activities that our school organises in order to enrich the children’s experience.  We believe that this will develop a better understanding of the world through which they can put in context and apply the more formal learning skills that they are developing.

We make our delivery of the curriculum intellectually stimulating through providing, amongst other things, opportunities to explore, investigate analyse and challenge.

Cultural and creative learning is incorporated through both discrete teaching sessions and cross-curricular links. We constantly reflect on and challenge ourselves to improve the experience our children receive and are currently focussing on further enhancing our links and experiences within the local community as well as deepening the children’s understanding of where we fit within the wider world.

All this is underpinned by a strong commitment to our school values.  We are a church school and have a high regard for our values, which teach our children to live their best life in an honest and fulfilling way, do good by others and play their part in the community. We ask our homes to commit to our values and role model them as adults.

We want our pupils to become well-informed, self-motivated and responsible citizens, working in a skilled and creative way with integrity and thoughtfulness. We aim for our pupils to be confident, secure and discerning young people with a positive attitude that will prepare them well for life in the community and wider world.
