Early Help

Early help at Oakmeadow

Here at Oakmeadow we understand that sometimes, some of our families may need some additional support to make sure that our children are able to do their best, achieve and be happy both in school and at home. To this end families can access support via our Early help process.

Early Help support can range from, an informal chat and signposting to a universal service eg, Autism West Midlands, BEAM, Sure start and other community-based support networks, to more intense support i.e. Early help meeting at school with our Family Inclusion lead and in some cases a referral to an outside agency for more targeted work. Our Family Inclusion team have worked hard to develop effective working relationships with other agencies in Shropshire such as Enhance, BEAM, strengthening Families, children’s services and the Compass team.

Our children’s social and emotional development and well-being are very important to us so there is always lots of lovely in-house work going on around school to support this. As part of this work we our very fortunate to have a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and a Play Therapist working with us who both deliver targeted pieces of work to support some of our children who may be struggling with their emotional growth.

Finally, the Solihull Understanding Your Child program is delivered here at Oakmeadow by two of our trained family practitioners offering our parents an opportunity to come together with other parents and develop a better understanding of their child’s development and behaviours.
