Understanding Your Child

The Solihull Approach Parenting course is intended for parents and carers who want to know more about sensitive and effective parenting. It aims to develop a framework of thinking about reciprocal parent/child relationships which can be developed into life long skills. The approach promotes effective behaviour management and explores issues such as…

  • Tuning into children
  • Exploring feelings
  • Parenting styles
  • Communication ( What is being communicated through behaviour)
  • Temper Tantrums and what might be meant by them
  • Sleep patterns
  • Behavioural Difficulties

Starting on January 10th, the Shropshire Parenting team are running a 10 week course. It aims to support with helping you to understand your child, yourself and your parenting style better. Giving you practical tips to improve your relationship and a chance to talk about challenges within a supportive peer group setting.
This course is being run online over Microsoft Teams.
In addition to the above, we appreciate not all families are able to commit to a set time over 10 weeks and therefore an online programme has been developed which you can access at your own leisure. Details are attached below.
