Use of External Agencies to support SEN at Oakmeadow

At Oakmeadow we closely monitor the progress of all children. When a lack of progress is highlighted through our robust tracking systems we will then put into place specific interventions or strategies that we feel will help to support the pupil. The impact of these interventions are then closely monitored throughout the term and reviewed by the class teacher, SENCo and parents on a termly basis. Provision maps list the interventions that the child is receiving.

However, there may be times when carefully targeted interventions or strategies still don’t make the significant impact we expect. In these situations, we may then invite an external agency to meet with the child. These agencies have a wealth of expertise and experience in particular areas which we are unable to provide. Following a referral with the parent’s consent, the agency will meet with the pupil, class teacher and parents. During a session a series of specific assessments or activities will be carried out which will then be able to provide further recommendations and a deeper analysis of the barriers and difficulties the child may be experiencing. This will be then reviewed.

Over the past 12 months the following external agencies have been employed to support the school in implementing targeted interventions and strategies to support a range of children.
