It is my pleasure to be part of the Governing body at Oakmeadow. As a staff governor, it is exciting to be part of the strategic vision for this fantastic school. Oakmeadow has such an outstanding reputation within the locality and I am excited to see how the school continues to grow and develop. I have loved every minute of being part of the governing body, and I am fortunate to work alongside some incredibly talented professionals. As a class teacher at Oakmeadow, the children are at the heart of everything I do. Teaching is the best job in the world and my aim is to inspire and nurture all children to achieve their full potential. I am also the link governor for Early Years, which has provided me with a truly insightful look into the world of EYFS. This has helped to develop my own teaching practice in Key Stage 2, and I look forward to continuing with this role. I also now live in the village with my partner and dog Nala, which is wonderful for seeing the children out and about after school hours.
I have recently completed my Masters Degree in Education Leadership and Management alongside my NPQ in Leading Teaching. I am now enrolled onto the NPQ for Senior Leadership, where I am able to understand the leadership and governance of a school setting further. Through this continued development, I am excited to share my newfound knowledge and skills with the governing body and provide the best education for our children.

I attended Longmeadow and in September 23 my daughter started her journey at Oakmeadow.
Oakmeadow has continually adapted through embracing new ideas and technology, maintaining its reputation as an excellent school.
As a parent, I know the importance of the parent’s needs in ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children to learn. Through my employment, I know the importance of effective financial management. With experience having been Director of Finance and Resources within a college, I empathise with the challenges schools have in coordinating the complex relationship of service, finance and parent needs, especially in the current economic environment. I want to see Oakmeadow continue to succeed and will therefore offer guidance where I can, challenge where needed and most of all support the objectives set.

I am a Shropshire Lass who spent her childhood growing up in Bayston Hill with her 2 older brothers.
My very first school was Oaklands Infants School when it was newly opened. From there I went to Longmeadow Primary School following in the footsteps of my brothers. I spent 4 very happy years years there and have very fond memories, although the school looks very different from my day. It is lovely to see the 2 schools merged now, and I am looking forward to supporting the management team and giving something back to the school that gave me such a good start in my educational life.

My first job was working for National Westminster Bank where I spent 14 years. I am now a fully qualified HR professional having gained my qualifications whilst working for Land Registry in London. Since then I have worked for the local NHS Trusts and am now working on a part time basis.

I recently relocated to this wonderful village and am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our school community. Link: Quality of Education

I have worked in education for over 17 years in a school in the local area. I am currently a deputy headteacher at a secondary school. I am passionate about high quality education and the opportunities it affords children. As part of my work I have completed a national qualification in education and I have worked with a national education charity. Through my work and as a parent I know how significant the early years and primary education are in the learning journey of a child.
Since moving to Bayston Hill in 2017 I have seen the important role Oakmeadow plays in the village and beyond, promoting and extending the schools values both inside and beyond the school gates. I am happy to support Oakmeadow staff and the school community by committing time and being a voice to represent parents/carers.
