I am a Shropshire Lass who spent her childhood growing up in Bayston Hill with her 2 older brothers.
My very first school was Oaklands Infants School when it was newly opened. From there I went to Longmeadow Primary School following in the footsteps of my brothers. I spent 4 very happy years years there and have very fond memories, although the school looks very different from my day. It is lovely to see the 2 schools merged now, and I am looking forward to supporting the management team and giving something back to the school that gave me such a good start in my educational life.
My first job was working for National Westminster Bank where I spent 14 years. I am now a fully qualified HR professional having gained my qualifications whilst working for Land Registry in London. Since then I have worked for the local NHS Trusts and am now working on a part time basis whilst supporting my elderly mother.

It is my pleasure to be part of the Governing body at Oakmeadow. As a new staff member, it is exciting to be part of the strategic vision for this fantastic school. Oakmeadow has such an outstanding reputation within the locality and I am excited to see how the school continues to grow and develop. As a class teacher at Oakmeadow, the children are at the heart of everything I do. Teaching is the best job in the world and my aim is to inspire and nurture all children to achieve their full potential. At the moment, I am currently completing my MA in Education Leadership and Management. Through this continued development, I am excited to share my newfound knowledge and skills with the governing body and provide the best education for our children.

My Name is Jonathan Harris. I am 60 years old, with 3 boys. 2 of whom are grown up 32 and 28. I have Markel who is 6.
I was brought up in Bayston Hill from 18 months old and the family home has been here since.
I attended Long Meadow school and then went to The Priory Boys school.
I joined the Police Force in 1978 and came out of the service in 1989.
My 2 older boys attended Oakland School.
I have played football in Bayston Hill. Cricket for Condover, so have a real understanding of what being a ‘Hillbillie’ is all about.
I have coached Junior Football and Junior Cricket over my years playing locally.
So what about now?
I am Managing Director of a Care company, which covers the UK, however has Head Office in Telford. I am Chairman of Wroxeter & Uppington Cricket Club, where all 3 boys play Cricket.
I coach Bayston Hill Juniors under 7’s at present and God willing will take them through the age groups.

I have been associated with the village all of my life and I am really keen to give something back to help make sure the future years are as good if not better than the years I have had.

Despite originally being from further afield, I moved from Powys in 2012 where I settled in Shrewsbury. I have lived in Bayston Hill for approximately 3 years and love the community spirit and I am looking forward to giving back to the community through my volunteering within the governing role.
Aside from family life, I am working towards gaining my qualifications as a clinical psychologist, and with my experience and background I hope I can bring a unique perspective to the governing body role. Within my role I hope I am able to help provide positive influence for the years to come and for all of the children who attend Oakmeadow school.

I am a new resident to the area having moved to Bayston Hill with my wife in April 2021. Originally, I am from Dudley but since moving to Shropshire, I don't see myself ever moving away, especially not Bayston Hill. We have loved living in the village so far and see ourselves here for a long time.
My wife and I are both teachers at primary schools within Telford and Wrekin, although thankfully at different schools. I love education, driving improvement and raising achievement for all children so having the chance to be governor was something I couldn't turn down.
Aside from education, I love sport. I play cricket locally for Allscott Heath CC and I have a season ticket at West Bromwich Albion.
I look forward to helping Oakmeadow thrive and continue its educational journey.
